Emily Gorodetskiy

Emily Gorodetskiy, President, is a junior at Lowell High School and plans to pursue a career in business and law. Emily frequently volunteers at her local library and dance studio. In school, she is the founder and president of the Youth Entrepreneurship Association, the treasurer of Model UN, and a participant in mock trial. Currently, she is interning at an e-commerce startup and a law firm. Outside of school, Emily enjoys dancing, reading, and exploring new food places around the city.

 

Mira Makan

Mira Makan, Vice President, is a senior at Lick-Wilmerding High School. She has a passion for learning about finance, and pursues this by taking internships with companies in business, finance, and technology. At school, she is the co-president of Bring Change 2 Mind, Lick’s mental health awareness organization. In her free time, she loves to play sports, spend time outdoors (especially at the beach!!), and play with her 2 dogs, Rafiki and Kiara.

 

Justin Ma

Meet Justin Ma, a senior at Lick Wilmerding High School passionate about community engagement and the newest Director of Strategic Initiatives at JEC's SF branch. With over five years of active involvement in the Chinese American Voter Education Committee (CAVEC), he co-authored a piece addressing Asian American representation. Additionally, he organized successful fundraising for Navajo Nation support through UCSF's HEAL initiative and created a documentary for the event. Currently, he is interning in District 1 Supervisor Chan's office and researching activities in partnership with the nonprofit One Sky. His hobbies include hanging around the city with friends or binge-watching shows.

 

Elsy Matias

Elsy Matias, Chief Marketing Officer, is a Senior at Lowell High School with aspirations in business administration, marketing, and international relations. Elsy is frequently found dancing ballet or playing lacrosse and golf. She enjoys reading and writing poetry and is the Co-Founder of the Youth Entrepreneurship Association (YEA). As a business and marketing enthusiast, Elsy is dedicated to integrating the science of happiness into her professional pursuits. Elsy speaks four languages—Chinese, Spanish, English, and Italian—and is always eager to learn more. She adores learning about different cultures and is open to new experiences. In her free time, she loves sharing laughs with friends and listening to various genres of music, including jazz.

 

Vallabh Himakunthala

Vallabh Himakunthala, Chief Financial Officer, is a senior at Dougherty Valley High School, where he is the President of his FBLA chapter and the Captain of the Economics Competitive Team. Vallabh plans to pursue Economics and Business. Outside of school, Vallabh runs his nonprofit, Open Arms Refugee, and spends his free time playing basketball or going to the gym.

 

Jaden Zhong

Jaden Zhong, Assistant Financial Officer, is a junior at San Francisco University High School and plans to pursue a career in business and real estate. In school, Jaden founded and runs the Finance and Technology Club. He also plays soccer for the varsity team and club soccer with MLS Next experience. Outside of school, Jaden is a big stock market trader and investor, and enjoys golfing and reading. He currently interns at a local real estate firm.

 

Mia Pinski

Mia Pinski, Assistant Marketing Officer, is a sophomore at Lowell High School with aspirations in public health and business administration. Along with JEC, Mia volunteers at the San Francisco Veteran Affairs
hospital. She actively contributes to her San Francisco Unified School District community through roles on the Student Health Advisory Board, Digital Agency Board, and Climate Action Fellowship. In addition, Mia plays for Lowell’s varsity tennis and lacrosse teams. In her free time, she likes to read, listen to music, and go for walks on the beach.

 

Leah Mordehai

Leah Mordehai, Director of Community Outreach, is a student at San Francisco University High School and plans on pursuing a career in business and law. Leah has always had a passion and curiosity for understanding how the business and finance world interact with the legal field. Along with JEC, she interns for San Francisco's District One Supervisor, works as a reporter for YR Media, is on San Francisco's Women Voter League Youth council, and is a student teacher at her synagogue. Additionally, Leah runs cross country and track, and leads her debate team. In her free time, Leah likes to read, listen to music, and journal.
