Haifu Owen

Haifu Owen currently serves as the President of the Junior Economic Club SF. He is a senior at Lick-Wilmerding High School. Haifu has always had a deep appreciation for topics related to finance and economics. Beyond his academic pursuits, he finds joy in reading, exercising, and savoring delightful food. A big supporter of the Giants and an even more passionate follower of the Warriors, Haifu eagerly anticipates an excellent year filled with captivating webinars featuring exciting guests.

 

Emily Gorodetskiy

Emily Gorodetskiy, Vice President, is a sophomore at Lowell High School and plans on pursuing a career in business & law. Emily loves to volunteer frequently at her local library and dance studio. In school, Emily is the Founder and President of the Youth Entrepreneurship Association, Model UN Treasurer, and mock trialer. Outside of school, Emily enjoys dancing, reading, and visiting new food places around the city.

 

Justin Ma

Meet Justin Ma, a Lick Wilmerding High School junior passionate about community engagement and the newest Chief Marketing Officer of JEC's SF branch. With over five years of active involvement in the Chinese American Voter Education Committee (CAVEC), he co-authored a piece addressing Asian American representation; additionally, he organized successful fundraising for Navajo Nation support through UCSF's HEAL initiative and created a documentary for the event. Currently, he's interning in District 1's Supervisor Chan's office and researching activities in partnership with the non-profit One Sky. He enjoys hanging around the city with friends or binging a show when not found hunched over his computer.

 

Atri Shankar

Atri Shankar, Chief Financial Officer, is a senior at Lick-Wilmerding High School and plans on pursuing a career in engineering and business. At school, he leads a club about astronomy and is part of the organizing team for Hyphen-Hacks 2023, a 24-hour hackathon that will be hosted at Lick-Wilmerding. He is also in the process of doing an independent study about 3D printed prosthetics and establishing a community-based initiative to help those in need of limbs. Outside of school, he is a part of an aerospace engineering club called Flight Club Aerospace and enjoys volunteering for STEM initiatives and projects. In his free time, he likes to play tennis, run, 3D model, listen to music, and hang out with friends.

 

Mira Makan

Mira Makan, Community Outreach Chair, is a junior at Lick-Wilmerding High School. She has a passion for learning about finance and economics, and continues this by taking online business courses and financial internships. In school, she loves history and biology, and is the co-president of BC2M, the school’s mental health awareness club. In her free time, she loves to play sports, like tennis and lacrosse, dance, bake, and play with her 2 dogs.

 

Alston Ho

Alston Ho, Assistant Financial Officer, is a Junior at Summit Shasta High School and plans on pursuing a career in the business/finance field. He is a highly motivated student passionate about business, economics, and finance topics. Along with JEC, Alston commits his time to his community as an after-school tutor, abacus tutor, San Mateo County Youth Comissioner, and peer mentor at Character Lab. In addition, Alston serves as the ASB Treasurer at his school. In his free time, Alston likes to play the piano, hang out with his friends, and try out new restaurants around the city.

 

Zoe Chung

Zoe Chung, Assistant Marketing Officer, is a Senior attending Abraham Lincoln High School. She plans on pursuing a career in Business Marketing or Economics in Southern California. Zoe has consecutively served her school as Treasurer and Social Media Manager, President of the Korean Culture Club, and is a charter President for the Finance and Investment Club, a nationwide organization that strives for financial education equity. She plays Varsity Flag Football and is captain of Varsity Track & Field. Her weekends consist of tutoring first-generation students on behalf of SFPL, volunteering for the Veteran's Affair Hospital and MarinSF Food Bank, crafting drinks at Starbucks as a barista, and interning for the Richmond District Community Youth Center. Gymming, shopping, and reading are her favorite hobbies that serve as her pastimes!
